Patrick Rimoux
Rimoux defines himself as a sculptor of light or a tailor of shadow. This polyvalent artist, who is a photographer, a sculptor, and designer at the same time, is also a new technologies engineer, well known for his lightscapes of cities and monuments. He has worked on the lighting of Taichung Park, Taiwan, Centenary of the Museum of Art & History of Geneve, Switzerland, Centre Pompidou Metz, France, European Ring & Grand Place, Brussels, Mandela Bridge & Freedom Towers, South Africa to name a few. Rimoux will be working on the lighting of Jantar Mantar in Delhi for Bonjour India 2013.
A long time admirer of Satyajit Ray, Rimoux is fascinated by Indian cinema. He believes cinema is an effective means of conveying culture because of its impact on society.
His artistic work focuses on cinematic films that, for him, crystallize his focus on the revelatory nature of light - the primary subject of his work.
